Dr. George Blaich 1968
Our family history of dentistry in Poplar Bluff began with Dr. George Blaich in 1949. After a tour of service in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps, Dr. Blaich purchased Dr. C.B. Coleman's practice in downtown Poplar Bluff. When Dr. Blaich moved his practice and established Dental Arts at our previous location at N. Westwood Blvd., highway 67 was a two-lane road. Drs. Rick and John Blaich have been practicing in Poplar Bluff for over 30 and 25 years respectively. The addition of Dr. Eric Blaich brings our family practice to three generations. Travis Blaich, Dr Rick's youngest son, will attend UMKC School of Dentistry in the fall 2011.
Staying current with advances in technology and techniques has always been a cornerstone of our mission. Construction of a new clinic specifically designed for dentistry has enabled the implementation some of the most up to date technology general dentistry has to offer, while preserving the ability to adapt and expand with the future growth of the community. The new facility allows us to provide a unique and efficient setting to accomplish each patient’s goals for treatment while maintaining their privacy.
Dr. Rick Blaich is a graduate of Washington University School of Dental Medicine. When he's not in the clinic, he enjoys flying, sailing, working on the family farm, hunting, and fishing. He has a love for his community and is honored to have served on the boards of the Clyde McCrea Cerebral Palsy Foundation, Butler County Health Center, Boys and Girls Club, Boy Scouts of America, Municipal Airport Board, and First United Methodist Church Staff Parish Board. Being involved with the local Boy Scouts continues to be a lifetime commitment.
Dr. John Blaich returned to Poplar Bluff following graduation from Washington University School of Dental Medicine. His wife, Grace, graduated from Washington University School of Law the same year. They have both practiced in Poplar Bluff their whole career. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, and scuba diving. He has long been active in leadership roles in the Boy Scouts of America. The challenges presented with an ever evolving profession and the people associated with it make for an exciting and rewarding career. He is looking forward to starting his next twenty-five years here in Poplar Bluff.
Dr. Eric Blaich is a 2010 graduate of the UMKC school of dentistry. After eight years in Saint Louis and Kansas City, he was more than ready to return home. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, 3 year old son Jace, and 1 year old daughter Stavia. His hobbies include fishing, duck hunting, marksmanship, spending time outdoors, and working with youth. Eric and his family attend First Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff; he enjoys 'rocking out' to Christian rock music, and plays it often in his operatories..perhaps a tad too loud sometimes. Dr. Eric is active in the dental profession, currently serving as Vice Preident elect of the Southeast Dental Society and as a delegate for the district with the Missouri Dental Association's legislative body. As a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Eric has committed to a level of continuing education above the minimum required in order to remain current in changing research and technology to better serve his patients.
